Summer Research Experience for Students (SRES) was an intensive, free, research program with sessions during the summer, spring, and fall; allowing students in grades 6-12 across the United States to work alongside RareGen’s Department of Translational Research Initiatives, as part of a larger consortium of nationally recognized rare disease organizations. Students were matched to a specific member organization within the Rare Disease Council of America based on availability, interest, and research goals as indicated in their submitted applications. For the year of 2024-2025, there were 8 SRES interns at RareGen and 25 across the Rare Disease Council of America. We hope to restart this program for the year of 2026-2027.
